Janet Campbell-Artist Representative has been involved in the administrative and management aspects of the classical music business for several years. She is the founder and director of "Singer Source", a referral service that assists conductors in finding singers for their engagements, and assists singers in finding work. She has been an administrator at two opera companies, Festival Opera, where her duties included casting singers, hiring musical staff and coordinating the chorus and events, and Oakland Lyric Opera, where she was the development coordinator and artistic assistant. Ms. Campbell is professional pianist and classical singer, a mezzo-soprano managed by Engdahl Artists International, New York, and is frequently seen on the concert and opera stage. |

She has been a featured soloist with musical organizations all over the United States including the Boston Masterworks Chorale, Washington Cathedral Choral Society, Denver Symphony, Berkeley Symphony, Stockton Symphony, Washington Concert Opera, San Francisco Choral Society, Academy in the Wilderness, Napa Symphony, Palo Alto Philharmonic, Rogue Valley Choral Society, Opera San Jose, Pocket Opera, Sacramento Opera, Rogue Valley Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Festival Opera and many others. With these and other opera companies she has performed leading roles including Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Fidalma in Il Matrimonio Segreto, Arsamene in Xerses, Tolemeo in Giulio Cesare, Siebel in Faust, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and the title role in Cenerentola. Ms. Campbell has won several competitions including First Place in the NATS competition, and a prize in the 1994 Liederkranz Competition. Twice a Regional Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Competition, she won a MET study scholarship in 1990. She was a finalist in both the Macallister Awards and the Loren Zachary Competition. Formerly the head of the voice staff at the National Cathedral School in Washington DC, Ms. Campbell is a member of NATS, and has a large private voice studio on the West Coast. She opened West Coast Classical Artists in the late spring of 1999 |
