Todd Robinson Picture Todd Robinson Bass-Baritone
Todd W. Robinson; bass-baritone is a native of Montrose, Pennsylvania. He has recently made his debut with Lyric Opera Cleveland as Horace in Blitzstein's Regina. He has been a member of Tri-Cities Opera Resident Artist Training Program in Binghamton, NY for the past six years. He has appeared on the TCO opera stage as Frank in Die Fledermaus, Mephistopheles in Faust, the Bonze in Madama Butterfly, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, the Wazir in Kismet, Oroveso in Norma, Crespel in The Tales of Hoffmann, and Balthazar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, as well as Sparafucile in Rigoletto, and the Old Hebrew in Samson et Dalila. He has also appeared on the stage with Ithaca Opera, Opera IV, a guest artist on the concert stage at Mansfield University and as an Assistant Director with Gary Race in La Cenerentola in Cleveland. Mr. Robinson was the 1999 recipient of the Richard F. Gold Career Grant presented by Tri-Cities Opera.
Mr. Robinson earned a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Binghamton University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Mansfield University. While there he was awarded the David Dick Memorial Award and Kruescher Awards. Mr. Robinson has been on the voice faculty at Binghamton University and Elmira College both located in the southern tier of New York. Mr. Robinson can be heard next as Leporello in Tri-Cities Opera's production of Don Giovanni in May. He is a current student of Peyton Hibbitt, Duane Skrabalak and Peter Sicilian.
